Official Name Change!

Not mine, but for the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

Yes, it’s true! As of 2013, the new name for the indispensable resource for any and all things Disney vacation has transitioned to this:

This blog post explains it all, but it’s definitely an exciting (and timely) announcement, as the panel has definitely moved beyond the property in Florida – to Disneyland, the Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney, Aulani – A Disney Resort & Spa, runDisney and new for 2013, Team Mom (associated with sports teams / ESPN Wide World of Sports).

With all of this excitement, I have just one question…is it September yet? 😉

What do you think of the new name?

It’s HERE!

My flight doesn’t leave for another three hours – and I am leaving from a local (read: 10 min away) airport so I am posting this update from my cozy bed…too excited to fall back asleep…but I cannot WAIT for what is ahead of me the next EIGHT magical days!

Marathon!

26.2 Magical Miles await…

Along with the WDW Marathon, Tinkerbell Half Marathon and Neverland 5K, I am SO excited to share that I’ll be sneaking in ONE last runDisney event during my racecation: another official meetup! I stalked the Disney Parks Blog for (wait for it) more than 4 hours to secure my spot on the list. (What am I talking about? Check out my Official runDisney Meetup posts: Part I and Part II and my Wine and Dine Meetup recap here).

I just might pass out with happiness if we get to run through the castle at Disneyland like they did last year. Just a warning 😉

While I have the grandest expectations of updating while on this adventure, it may be sporadic, so if you’re looking for the latest up-to-the-minute happenings, here’s where you’re sure to find me:

So, as they say at Disney…SEE YA REAL SOON!

Will you be joining me at WDW or Disneyland? Be sure to tweet or comment! 🙂

TOMORROW! (and my last item, on today, T-1 DAY!)

Bucket List Item #1…

Wear my Mickey Medal ALL DAY after the Marathon!

This newly redesigned medal for the 20th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Marathon is quite literally some IMPRESSIVE heavy medal!

Weighing in at more 8 ounces (!!) it’s a beast – and a HUGE reminder of the GIGANTIC accomplishment of conquering 26.2 miles in the place where dreams come true! As much as I am looking forward to running the amazing course, discovering the secret of the Mile 20 surprise, I have to admit, I cannot wait to show off my bling by wearing it around the parks!

In Disneyland, I wore my half and Coast to Coast medal which was fun, but this super cool Mickey – with SPINNER – medal…well, it’s going to be PRETTY awesome!

Are you a fan of BLING? What’s your favorite race medal?

Bucket List Item #2…

Ride the newly-Imagineered Test Track attraction.

After a lengthy refurbishment period (nearly eight months) this Future World East mainstay re- opened to great fanfare in early December, complete with media events and a concert with recording artists One Republic.

Now, I was a pretty big fan of the original version of this attraction – it was thrilling, well-designed and most of all, fun – especially when you took someone with you that had never been on before! The problem was, the attraction was so technologically advanced – and comprised of so many individuality moving parts that it often fell victim to technical error and the  accompanying downtime.

Now, much like my attitude toward Be Our Guest, I have done my best to abstain from commentary regarding this “new” attraction so I have no real idea of what to expect, other than be impressed by the sleek ‘Tron’ like look that’s been been floating around the world of social media…so in just a few days, I am STOKED beyond belief to see for myself what it’s all about!

Have you been on the “NEW” Test Track? What do you think?

Bucket List Item #3…

Visit the display of Laila perfume at the Norway Pavilion.

If you’ve experienced the Maelstrom attraction at Epcot’s Norway Pavilion before, chances are, you’ve already had a whiff of this clean, delicate fragrance…it is just… indescribably lovely!

Sure, you could order it from Nordstrom or even Amazon, but this smell just says ‘Epcot’ to me – and I love it. I was really close to purchasing it on a recent trip – my friend April and I even met Geir Ness, the fragrance designer, but alas, I realized I couldn’t take it in my carry on bag!

Since I am still undecided about carry on vs. checked baggage for this trip, it is unclear if a bottle will go home with me this time either (I really should just order it) but there’s just something about spritzing this lovely scent on your skin after going “o’er the falls!” – ahhhhhh.

What are your favorite Walt Disney World smells?

Bucket List Item #4…

Celebrate & dine at Be Our Guest Restaurant.

You know when a bucket list item is GOLDEN? When you’re looking forward to the FOOD and EXPERIENCE just as much as for the amazing COMPANY! I am ecstatic to say that Be Our Guest Restaurant is going to be THE venue for the most amazing post-marathon celebration ever with my awesome friend, Rachel – as we celebrate HER FIRST MARATHON!

You see, Rachel contacted me via email to introduce herself after she stumbled upon my blog! She was just about to participate in her very first Half Marathon: the Tinkerbell Half in Disneyland! She was a bit of reluctant runner, but she was excited to try something new – and sure enough, she did great and even ran quite a few races in 2012, before we had the opportunity to meet during Wine and Dine Half Weekend in November!

I am so proud of the progress that she has made through the year and I cannot think of a better place to celebrate accomplishments than a magical restaurant like this – and even more magically, Rachel was able to secure a reservation for us right when it opened up for guest booking.

Now, I am a big article reader, but I’ve managed to TRY and limit my exposure to information regarding this location (so I can experience each moment with a clear mind) but I would be fibbing if I said I didn’t already check out the menu…um, hello delicious!

I’m certain it’s going to be the sweetest celebration ever!

What’s your favorite new Disney dining experience?
